This year, social good connected us in myriad ways. Our colleagues, teams and divisions came together to serve their local communities and the world at large, donating their time, energy and skills by fundraising for cures, aiding relief efforts, supporting small businesses, forming mentoring relationships and more.

The WBAL-TV, Baltimore, MD, news team joined in the fun at Horizon Day Camp by helping with recreational activities that serve children with cancer and their siblings.

The Hearst Gives Back Service Awards honored colleagues in five categories: Community Champion, Professional Impact, Team Together, Motivating Mentor and ERG Energizer, with special recognition for the San Francisco Chronicle’s Season of Sharing for more than 35 years of giving back in the Bay Area. Winners received support in the form of donations to their chosen organizations. The awards will be back again in early 2023, so start thinking about your nominations!
Spartan Race colleagues traveled to Ukraine to deliver $500,000 worth of supplies
WCVB-TV, Boston, MA, celebrated 50 years on air with the creation of the Fifty Years Fund, focusing on systemic change in the areas of social and economic justice and reinforcing the station’s commitment to community service.
Fitch Group colleagues continued to support its newest community partner, Publicolor, an innovative educational youth development organization in NYC that empowers students facing immense life challenges for academic and career success. Fitch volunteers engaged with Publicolor students through tutoring, mentoring and painting at schools in the Bronx and Harlem.

WLKY-TV, Louisville, KY, raised over $260,000 for eastern Kentucky flooding victims
A+E Networks EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) colleagues in Poland and Germany helped arrange housing and supplies for Ukrainian refugees.
Step-loving colleagues around the country participated in the Hearst 135 Virtual Walk in June, walking more than 4.3 million steps and raising almost $45,000 for charity.
iCrossing offices across the country took part in an annual Community Service Day, packing back-to-school supplies and food boxes for people in need in their local communities.

Hearst Ranch hosted the Hearst Cancer Resource Center Share the Hope fundraiser and raised over $460,000 that will allow cancer patients and their families to use the center and its resources free of charge.
